The Mercedes-Benz NG 80 (Neue Generation) 1633S was a heavy 4x2 tractor unit introduced in 1980. The vehicle's 1633S designation shows the truck has a gross vehicle weight rating of approximately 16-tonnes and a 330 horsepower engine. The 'S' stands for Sattelschlepper (semi-trailer truck). Designed primarily for long-distance heavy haulage, the NG 80 combined aerodynamic styling with powerful turbocharged engines and comfortable sleeper cabs. The range remained in production until 1988.
