About Us

The FIVA Utilitarian Commission exists to promote, preserve and protect the world's historic utilitarian vehicles, recognising their vital contribution to our social, economic and industrial development.

The Commission works to ensure these vehicles, and the stories they tell, are not forgotten. Our activities include encouraging the preservation and responsible use of historic utilitarian vehicles, promoting research and knowledge-sharing, supporting owners and enthusiasts, and strengthening international cooperation between clubs, museums, collections and specialist organisations.

A key aspect of the Commission's work is to identify and address the unique challenges faced by utilitarian vehicle owners. These include issues relating to legislation, roadworthiness, operation, restoration, specialist skills and the availability of technical information.

The Commission also promotes and supports international utilitarian vehicle events, develops networks of expertise and helps raise public awareness of the historical significance of working vehicles.

By championing the preservation of these vehicles, the FIVA Utilitarian Commission helps safeguard an important element of global transport and industrial and cultural heritage for future generations.
